LA MUSIC ACADEMY SCHOLARSHIPS

The LA Music Academy College of Music is pleased to offer merit-based scholarships for incoming international and domestic students. Scholarship awards are presented in the form of tuition credit only. The total award amount is for six quarters and applied to the tuition evenly. For example, if an award is $6,000.00, the tuition credit per quarter is $1,000.00. If a student only completes four quarters, the remaining $2,000.00 of the award is forfeited. Students must maintain a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.5 for their award to continue to the following quarter. Students who fall below the 3.5 CGPA will be placed on scholarship probation and have one quarter to raise it.

General Criteria

All scholarship applicants must have already been accepted to the LA Music Academy. There are multiple scholarships but only one application; all applicants will be considered for all scholarships, as applicable. Scholarship awards are conferred at the sole discretion of the Scholarship Committee and may not be combined.



SCHOLARSHIP DESCRIPTIONS

The following are merit-based scholarships:

  • Charles T. Aylesbury Memorial Scholarship (one award per start date) $18,000.00

  • Outstanding Bass Performance Scholarship (one award per start date) $12,000.00

  • Outstanding Drum Performance Scholarship (one award per start date) $12,000.00

  • Outstanding Vocal Performance Scholarship (one award per start date) $12,000.00

  • Outstanding Guitar Performance Scholarship (one award per start date) $12,000.00

  • Performance Scholarship (several awards per start date) $1,000.00-$10,000.00

  • Results of the performance audition

  • Academic promise as reflected in grade transcripts

  • Answers to essay questions

  • Letter of recommendation


    • Scholarship Deadlines

    The deadline for the LA Music Academy scholarship is as follows:

  • Fall 2010 start date: April 5th - July 5th, 2010

  • Spring 2011 start date: August 15th – November 15th, 2010


    • All applications must be received by these dates. Applicants will be notified of the scholarship committee’s decisions approximately one month after the deadline.
